Lyrics include: "If I can't find the cure, I'll, I'll fix you with my love".

At the end of her set, Gaga announced that her new single would be available to purchase this evening, and it is now available on iTunes, Spotify, and Apple Music around the world.

Gaga told the crowd: "I've been so excited for this next part of the show because I've been trying to keep it a secret for so long".

Since debuting at Coachella and being released online as a single, "The Cure" has sparked a wave of reactions from Gaga's loyal "little monsters".

Gaga stepped in to perform in the place of Beyonce, who had to pull out of the California-based music event due to being pregnant with twins. "I have been through so much in my life and I've seen so much". She also performed Telephone, her 2009 collaboration with the insane in Love hitmaker, and reportedly fell silent during Beyonce's parts on the song. "Which I loved because I love causing trouble".

Gaga heaped praise on her fans during her set, and regularly talked to them.

The song, called The Cure, rocketed to the top of music charts around the globe within hours of its release.

Gaga is taking her headliner duties seriously, and has been in rehearsals "pretty much every day" since agreeing to play the festival, her long-time choreographer and visual director Richy Jackson revealed.
