OU's Lloyd Noble Center will host a women's gymnastics regional in 2019 and the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships in 2022, while the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club will welcome a women's golf regional in 2019 and a men's golf regional in 2020.
The NCAA on Tuesday announced future championship sites for 2019-22 and Kansas City once again was a big victor. Omaha has proven to be the most attended host site in NCAA women's volleyball history, as five of the top six attendance figures all-time have been set at CenturyLink Center Omaha.
The Grand Strand this year played host to a pair of ACC championships after the NCAA removed them from the state of North Carolina because of the controversial House Bill 2, legislation that drew much criticism, particularly from the LGBT community.
This is the fourth time Omaha has been selected as the volleyball championship site since 2006.
The NCAA's reveal of its future championship sites Tuesday contained numerous cities one would expect to find on such a list.
"I think the NCAA just has a real high level of confidence in that venue's ability to host those championships and the partnerships that are involved with everything, from the university to the city on down the line", said Duquesne athletic director Dave Harper. This will mark the third time we have hosted an NCAA Women's Golf Regional.
The NCAA Championships are coming to Pennsylvania in 2019. The Randal Tyson Track Center will welcome back the NCAA Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships on March 12-13, 2021.
The Razorbacks will host both the men's and women's NCAA golf championships at The Blessings in Fayetteville in 2019. The 2019 field hockey championships will be held November 22-24, while the 2021 event is set for November 19-21.
Also, Kansas City was awarded the 2018 NCAA women's bowling finals.
Kansas City will host the Division I men's basketball regional in 2019. PPG Paints Arena seats 18,387 for hockey games and has yet to host an amateur wrestling event since opening in 2010.
"We look forward to working with our membership, the cities and local organizing committees who may host for the first time, as well as the groups who will repeat as host sites".
