The victims included two Swedes, one Briton and a Belgian national who were killed when a rejected asylum seeker drove a truck through a crowd, Stockholm police official Jan Evensson told reporters.

The Aftonbladet newspaper and Swedish radio reported that the suspect is a 39-year-old man from Uzbekistan.
"The suspect didn't appear in our recent files, but he earlier has been in our files", Thornberg said.
NPR reports that Swedish authorities will not disclose, at least not immediately, the length of time the suspect has been living in Sweden.
According to the Washington Post, Friday's attack marks the "first major apparent terrorist strike in Stockholm". The suspect was detained in a northern Stockholm suburb on Friday and later arrested on suspicion of having committed a terrorism crime, police said.

"The goal is that we are supposed to be afraid, but Sweden has shown itself from its best side", CNN quoted Prime Minister Stefan Lofven.
Another five people were being held for questioning after raids during the weekend and police said that they had conducted about 500 interviews as part of the inquiry.
"There is nothing that tells us that we have the wrong person", Dan Eliason told a news conference Saturday, but added he did not know whether others were involved in the attack.
Lofven, Interior Minister Anders Ygeman and other government members have praised the police and the emergency services for their swift response to the attack. "That is what we're going to build on", she said, praising a city "characterised by openness and tolerance".
"Clear similarities", this according to Eliasson, were found between the Stockholm attack and that of London's Westminster Parliament near the end of March. Another 10 people are being treated in hospital and four of them are in a serious condition. Police across the Nordic region went on heightened alert after the Stockholm attack.
